April Kim, FNP
Dr. April Kim DNP, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She graduated from the University of Hawai’i, Mānoa with a Doctor of Nursing Practice where she performed an evidence-based research on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In addition, she partnered with the Hawai’i Department of Education to pilot an initiative health program to serve the public schools within the rural population. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana State University and attended Stanbridge College where she began her nursing career as a vocational nurse.
Dr. Kim has a background in serving diverse populations including family, geriatric, and community. She has also been privileged to work for the Department of Defense family medicine department where she served active duty members and their dependents. She believes in the importance of comprehensive multidisciplinary care using the patient centered medical home model, which promotes individualistic and holistic care to maximize health outcomes.
Dr. Kim enjoys traveling with her husband and exploring beautiful places outdoors. She loves to hike and swim and enjoys being close to nature. She and her husband also like to eat at new and different kinds of restaurants, but their favorite is Korean bbq.
